As always, I had big plans to venture out and get some super creative shots for this week's
Sunday Stills challenge. And as always, I didn't. This week flew!! Thankfully, we are not lacking for fences out here in the kuntry, so I was still able to meet the challenge.
This is a standard post and board fence that surrounds one of my neighbor's fields. Guess he hasn't quite gotten around to cutting the tops off of the posts on the stretch of fencing in that first picture...hmm. I know the feeling...

I still need to cut the tops off of my cutting garden posts and put caps on!

But hey, at least the wire is attached! Oh, wait...I still have half the garden to finish attaching. Darn it.

These shots are of our electric tape fence that surrounds the area that Caspian is in. Not my first choice of fencing, but it does a good job of keeping him in and any unwanted kritters out. Initially, I really wanted to install
Centaur Fencing (and still do!), but the cost is about three times as much. Hmm...I think I'll make do with the tape. ;)

The only drawback is that the tall grass touching it shorts out the current. Actually, this might not be such a drawback, because two times last week I forgot it was on. One time while I was wielding a hose and stuck my hand through the fence while water was spraying everywhere and one time I climbed right through it in order to get into the arena. Both times I got a little kiss from it, but nothing hair raising! The current also gets weaker when it's really dry out, which it definitely is around here right now!

Oh, hey buddy! Of course, Mr. Caspian had to come over and see what the heck I was up to.

Thanks for visiting! Off to check out some fences! :)
Very nice!

ReplyDeletethe natural light in these photos is great, you positioned yourself well, these look great
ReplyDeleteDo you think Caspian knows when the electric fence is off or out? I always wonder if the horses can sense the "juice" is on or off! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos...love the BWs
ReplyDeleteI always zap myself on the fence! The cattle fences are the worst, they pack a punch. Great photos! Love the 5th one from the bottom (your first electric fence pic)... it is like the great wild grasser are trying to push down your fences. lol... or something like that. Great light in that photo.
