So, I think I'm gonna have to stay home from work tomorrow. All of a sudden I'm coming down with a horrible cough, my head feels hot, and my throat is scratchy. I think it might be the flu.
Or maybe not. Maybe I just want to stay home tomorrow so I can ride my horse. ;)

I had such a blast riding him bareback tonight!!! After our ordeal the other night, I really had to gather the courage to mount up (I'm getting a tad wussy these days). Turns out I had nothing to worry about. Caspian obvoiusly remembered our ordeal too and decided to just completely trust me today. It was awesome. He lined up to my "mounting block" (please note the wood ladder in the background) like a seasoned pro and stood so politely for me. He was unbelievable.

I seriously can't even remember the last time I rode bareback, but I'm thinking it's been about 15-20 years or so. I forgot how FUN it is!!! Now it's all I can think about. Which is why I just might have to stay home tomorrow to nurse this "cough". ;) Just kidding. I think.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
How's your head? Did you stay home? hope that it was just as you said..an overdose of fun on bareback!
ReplyDeleteGood job, you look great!
KacyK
Yeah!! You got on! LOL! I am so glad you had so much fun riding bareback! I only have ridden Brandy bareback once, and I actually was smiling the whole time! It brought back memories of my youth, we always rode bareback!
ReplyDeleteRiding bareback is actually so good for us. Really helps us learn to balance, I should do it more often.
Enjoy all your bareback rides!!
Glad to hear your bareback ride went well. Had my first lesson this weekend, and a short "trail" ride the following day. Looking forward to more time in the saddle this weekend!
ReplyDeleteYay :-)
ReplyDeleteCisco and I have been doing the bareback thing as well....will put up a post soon.
Oooo...nothing like a good cough. And you wouldn't want to make anyone else sick (they don't read your blog, do they?)
ReplyDeleteIt is fun, isnt it. I remember last year I was riding bareback when my horse spooked and jumped sideways about five feet, spun around and did the OMG hoof plant...When he came to a stop I found that I was actually still mounted and took a minute to pat myself on the back...however, when he then took one step forward and I went sliding off his side...
ReplyDeleteI am trying to get used to the bareback idea. I get on and walk very tentatively around the ring. Does my horse seem to notice or care I am saddleless? No, she couldn't care at all. But I wig myself out!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! What fun! I can't wait to ride again. I'm going to have to longe out my silly pony good beforehand though, LOL!
ReplyDeletep.s. I did get that awful cold....but no flu, thank goodness! I hope you "feel" better soon, hee hee!
Glad you got up there! Did you take the day off to "be sick"?
ReplyDeleteYou and Caspian look very nice bareback - still put together and calm and everything.
Can't wait for more bareback photos :)
