This week's Sunday Stills challenge is the color yellow...what a perfect challenge for this time of year! Yellow seems to be everywhere, at least in my neck of the woods!

This is our "small town bell tower". I really love having this feature in our town; during the holidays this is where we light our Christmas tree. But right now, it's all about the daffodil! Our town is big on celebrating the daffodil and is one that takes part in the "daffodil parade" each year.
A buttercup close up! At least, I think this is a buttercup. If my memory serves me right, I seem to remember buttercups being shorter than these flowers were. Hmm...maybe they're just supercharged buttercups, just like everything else up here (i.e.; weeds, weeds, and more weeds...all of the supercharged variety). ;)

Here are a couple of other little critters...a busy worker honey bee and a cute little bumble bee (or chicken bee as my neighbors call them). Did you all know that bumble bees nest in the ground? I just learned that! No wonder I stepped on so many as a kid!
Nice shots! I think we were on similar wavelengths with our Sunday Stills...bees and flowers! :)
ReplyDeleteI think those are surely buttercups, they are shiny like that. Did you know they are toxic to horses? Mine won't eat them, though.
I did not know that petunias have a fragrance! Too funny.
Ok, what is it with everyone posting spiders in their flowers? Ick! I am terrified of spiders! Yes, little ole me, terrified of them!
ReplyDeleteAnyways, great yellow pix!
Very nice, the spider shot is great..:-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice shots! The spider shot is cool!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! The bell tower is very cool! And I love the buttercup hiding in the grass. I had some similar pics, but wouldn't let myself post them. hehe I didn't know petunias had a fragrance either! How did I not know that?!?
ReplyDeletePaint Girl~ I KNOW! Where did all of the spiders come from!? LOL! ;)
ReplyDeleteKuntry Girl~ Even though I totally freak at the sight of any spiders, that shot is pretty neat. Funny enough you mentioned buttercups too. I spent yesterday pulling the remainders from my pasture. Hopefully I got them before any of them went to seed!
Nice job. The bell tower shot is pretty neat. I like how the tower looms in the background. The close up are real good with a touch of insect to boot.
ReplyDeleteGreat series of yellow, the spider was very interesting:)
ReplyDeleteLove the spider on the flower and the logo!!!!
